Our beginnings

On November 15, 1989 the Ministry of Works together with the Home Office, both of them acting on behalf of the Executive Power of Argentina and the City Hall of Buenos Aires city signed an agreement in which, it was established to set up a public corporation called "Corporación Antiguo Puerto Madero S.A.", to boost the urban development of the area known as Puerto Madero. In this company, the National Government and Buenos Aires city were to be considered as equal partners.

The National Governmnet transferred the Puerto Madero lands, ( where the Port Administration, the Argentinian Railway Company and the National Grain Board had an overlapping jurisdiction), and the Buenos Aires city established the regulations for the urban planning.

Corporación Antiguo Puerto Madero S.A.

When the Corporation was established the following guidelines were taken into account:

Objective: The urban development of old Puerto Madero (Antiguo Puerto Madero)

Capital: The transfer of lands of the Puerto Madero area for its development.

Nature: Full legal capacity as a corporation.

Guidelines

- To recover the economic role and the activities of the central area of Buenos Aires city.
- To revert the urban deficit so as to keep the balance between the private and public area.
- To promote the approach of the city to the river , developing the south area.
- To establish a joint development plan.
- To encourage investment.
